Description

We discovered this vessel shape in Japan. Inspired by vintage glass domes used to protect emerging seedlings, our Match Cloches are made of handblown glass and fitted with a cork to stylishly hold an assortment of matchsticks. The original was tiny and clear so we made it large enough to hold our best-selling 4" matches and updated it in this sophisticated color palette. Each piece is hand-blown and fitted with a cork stopper in the bottom. It reminds us of a vintage glass cloche, originally used to protect emerging seedlings in gardens. Once the matches are gone, it can be a curiosity used to display a found specimen.

A striker flint on the glass adds functionality and the delicate vessels can be reused to display treasures and curiosities. Our newest trio of shades— Mushroom, Apricot, and Teal— exude an earthy appeal, conveying tones of soil, sun, and sea with a soft refinement.
