I enjoy playing with the extraordinary colors of the orchids and Alice’s reactions to its size. I especially like the fact that she’s completely oblivious of the water dripping from the watering can. Teen years, the struggle to become a woman, realizing the task, almost insurmountable to suddenly have to fight for your rights, find your place in society, protect yourself. The orchid, symbol of a beautiful colorful world with its attraction and its danger. A world that can make us feel very small sometimes.
